Who we are

Nordica Lock is a Shopify app made by Variegata Nordica (Mallory Berthomé). It locks or hides parts of a store for chosen shoppers. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@nordica-apps.com.

What the app stores

• Your store’s address and Shopify access, so the app can open in your Shopify admin.
• Your rules: what is locked and for whom, and a scrambled form of any password you set (never the password itself).
• Password tries: a scrambled code made from the visitor’s IP address, for 24 hours, to stop guessing. The address itself is never stored.
• Messages you send with “Contact support” or “Suggest an improvement”, and the email address if you add one.
• Technical error reports: your store’s address, the page and the error, so problems can be fixed.

The app stores no customer data. Your store checks who is logged in and their tags by itself; the app never sees them.

Who processes the data

Cloudflare hosts the app and its database (under Cloudflare’s data processing terms). Shopify provides the store data and handles billing. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising, and no data is sent to an AI service.

What the app changes in your store

It adds the lock through a theme app embed you turn on, and a checkout rule that stops locked products being bought. Nothing is written into your theme’s code.

How long it is kept

While the app is installed. When you uninstall, your sign-in data is deleted at once; 48 hours later, when Shopify asks for the store’s data to be erased, everything is deleted. When Shopify asks to erase a customer’s data, their data is deleted.
